Explore Dream Vacations in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji & Tahiti
Despite the current economic environment in the United States marked by instability due to factors like impending tariffs and market volatility, planning international travel remains both feasible and rewarding.
The US dollar (USD) continues to be strong against the Australian dollar (AUD), New Zealand dollar (NZD), and Fijian dollar (FJD), reflecting broader global market trends and driven by strong US economic data and other factors.
And, though tariffs might make some things more expensive, the good news is that they likely won't significantly impact how much you'll spend on a trip. Plane tickets and hotel prices haven't increased much, and international vacations are still affordable. Plus, you can use some smart planning strategies to travel even if things are a bit unpredictable right now.
While summer is approaching, there’s still plenty of time to plan a dream vacation.
For travelers looking for something a little more unique (beyond destinations like Europe or North America!), look no further than the Southern Hemisphere and the South Pacific. Bucketlist destinations like Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tahiti each offer something truly special during these months.
Whether you're chasing outdoor adventure or white sand beaches, this is the perfect season to explore the diverse magic of this region. Let’s help you get there!
Regardless of your budget or travel preferences, we have thoughtfully crafted itineraries and expert recommendations to help you maximize your summer adventure.
Whether you’re a luxury traveler seeking five-star island escapes, a family looking for fun and educational experiences, or a solo explorer chasing thrills and natural wonders, we’ve got something special tailored just for you.
Northern cities (e.g., Darwin, Cairns): 70–86°F – Tropical and warm year-round
Southern cities (e.g., Sydney, Melbourne): 43–64°F – Cooler, especially in inland areas
Summer is the perfect time to visit Australia, which offers diverse climates and activities depending on the region.
In Northern Australia (e.g., Cairns, Darwin, Great Barrier Reef), the temperature is a dream! As it is the dry season, with warm temperatures and low humidity, this region is ideal for exploring tropical rainforests, the reef, and national parks without the intense summer heat or risk of cyclones. Travelers can expect very low rainfall and clear skies during these months.
Particularly for first-time visitors, one of our favorite activities is a Great Barrier Reef Day Tour which features adventure aboard Silversonic, a 29-meter luxury catamaran for small groups of adventurous travelers to enjoy diving and snorkeling. The tour gives travelers over five hours to explore this iconic underwater world, encompassing three outer reef locations. Expect excellent underwater visibility for snorkeling and diving, with calm seas and minimal stingers in the water.
For families, Queensland, including a stop at Bluey's World, a one-of-a-kind guided immersive experience into the playful World of Bluey, is a must-see! Families can plan itineraries around Bluey’s World and explore gems like Brisbane, Port Douglas, and Hamilton Island.
The summer also offers prime conditions for Kimberley-region cruises in Western Australia, which are one of the most spectacular and unique travel experiences in the country. Often referred to as Australia’s last true wilderness, the Kimberley is a remote and rugged landscape filled with dramatic red cliffs, cascading waterfalls, ancient Aboriginal rock art, and rich wildlife.
North Island (e.g., Auckland): 46–61°F
South Island (e.g., Queenstown, Christchurch: 34–54°F
Who wants the hustle and bustle of major crowds in North America or Europe? Though it may be summer here soon, New Zealand is a dream escape for adventure and scenic beauty. As the “Adventure Capital of the World,” known for bungee jumping, skiing, and skydiving, June - August is the best time for outdoor sports, especially in the South Island (Queenstown & Wanaka).
Fewer visitors translate to better deals on flights and accommodations and a more relaxed travel experience. With dramatic mountain scenery, crisp, clear days, and endless ways to explore the outdoors, New Zealand is nothing short of spectacular.
Plus, getting to New Zealand is super convenient via Air New Zealand, which offers flights from JFK, Houston, LA, and San Francisco and has unique seating options like the Skycouch. With this "couch in the sky" option, passengers can turn a row of economy seats into a flat surface, offering increased comfort and relaxation, especially for families and couples.
Once you arrive, here are some of our favorite destinations in Kiwi Country include:
Queenstown: New Zealand’s premier visitor destination and playground for thrill seekers, foodies, and culture enthusiasts
Franz Josef: One of the few glaciers in the world that descends into a temperate rainforest
Christchurch: New Zealand's second-largest city and an urban hub brimming with art, visitor attractions, and world-class hospitality
Rotorua: A geothermal wonderland and a cultural heartland rolled into one, famous for its bubbling mud pools, steaming geysers, and natural hot spring
Fiji: Tropical climate year-round - 66–82°F – Dry season, pleasant and sunny
Tahiti (French Polynesia): Also tropical: 70–82°F – Dry season, warm and comfortable
Fiji and Tahiti are dream destinations at any time of the year, and from June through August, travelers can expect perfect weather conditions that enhance the natural beauty of these regions.
In Fiji, the dry season reigns, offering crisp blue skies, gentle ocean breezes, and comfortably warm temperatures—ideal for exploring the vibrant coral reefs, engaging in water sports, or simply relaxing on the pristine beaches.
Meanwhile, Tahiti and its surrounding islands, including Moorea and Bora Bora, are paradises with low humidity and minimal rainfall, making it a prime time for outdoor adventures and cultural experiences like local dance festivals.
One of the most spectacular ways to experience both islands is via island cruise, which allows you to explore the best of the South Pacific, including lush Huahine, beautiful Bora Bora, and postcard-perfect Moorea.
